Everything you need to write about MAIMU, in one page. Assets are linked at full resolution, the specifications are below, and the descriptions are there to be copied. If something is missing, write to [email protected] and it will be sent the same day.
MAIMU is a macOS app that shows you where your disk actually went and then — only for the things it found and you confirmed — clears them out, into the Trash rather than into thin air.
MAIMU maps a Mac's disk into a sunburst you can actually read, names the things that ate it — node_modules, Xcode DerivedData, Docker images, dead caches, forgotten downloads — and explains which of them regenerate on their own before you touch anything. Seeing all of that is free and has no time limit. A one-time $9.99 unlocks the part that deletes, and even then MAIMU can only act on paths it surfaced itself and you confirmed: it refuses to touch anything outside your home folder, anything over 250 MB can only ever be moved to the Trash, and every action is written to a plain-text log you own. It is a universal binary, signed and notarized, from a family software studio in Estonia.
MAIMU is a cleanup app asking a stranger for permission to delete things, so its safety rules are enforced in code rather than promised in marketing. Each of these is worth trying to break:
~/Library/Application Support/MAIMU/, plain JSON,
yours to read.No accounts, no uploads, no telemetry, no cloud. MAIMU's own server
binds to 127.0.0.1 and talks to nobody else, and nothing
about your disk ever leaves it.
The one exception, stated plainly because you will see it in Little
Snitch: once per launch MAIMU fetches
https://maimu.app/version.json to find out whether a
newer release exists. It is a plain GET for a static file — no
identifier, no license key, no query string, nothing about your disk —
it is surfaced once and never nags, and if it fails the app carries on
silently. That is the app's only outbound request.

All five are genuine captures from real machines — no mockups, no retouched interface, and every number visible in them was measured, not invented. They already carry their own window shadow on a transparent background, so they drop straight onto a light or dark page.
Listed so nothing here has to be walked back later:
MAIMU is made by Surfzone OÜ, a small family software studio in Estonia run by Priit Pärna — also the makers of HAKiosk and MenuMog. MAIMU shipped in August 2026 and is on its second release.
