The data controller is Surfzone OÜ, a company registered in Estonia. Questions, requests, complaints: [email protected].
MAIMU has no telemetry, no analytics, no account, and no cloud. What it scans, what it finds, and what you delete stay on your Mac. The deletion log it writes is a local file on your own disk. Your license is verified offline — entering a license key sends nothing anywhere.
The app makes exactly one kind of network request: it
periodically fetches https://maimu.app/version.json (a
static file) to learn whether a newer version exists. That request
carries no personal data and no identifiers — it is an ordinary HTTP
fetch, indistinguishable from visiting the website. If the request
fails, the app simply carries on.
maimu.app is a static site hosted on DigitalOcean (EU region). Like any web host, the infrastructure may keep standard server logs (IP address, request path, time).
The website uses two analytics tools to understand visits:
This page and the terms page deliberately load no analytics at all.
Payments are processed by Stripe; your card details go to Stripe, not to us (see Stripe's privacy policy). From a purchase we receive and keep: your email address, which your license key is issued against, and the purchase record. We keep purchase records because Estonian accounting law requires it (seven years). We use your purchase email to deliver the license and to answer license questions — not for marketing lists.
If you write to [email protected], your message and address are stored in our support systems and used to answer you. Nothing else is done with them.
You can ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data (deletion excepted where accounting law requires retention), and you can object to or restrict processing. Write to [email protected] — we answer within a month. You may also complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon) or your local supervisory authority.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be noted here.
